A Garden Full of Us

Some photographs hold more than faces.

They hold warmth, voices, laughter, and the quiet presence of people who shaped our lives without ever asking for recognition. This poem is a journey back to one ordinary summer afternoon — a garden filled with family, sunlight, and the kind of love that only becomes fully visible with time.

This poem was inspired by an old family photograph taken on a warm summer’s day in our front garden. Looking at the image brought back memories of childhood, the closeness of family, and the quiet nature of Dad and Granma Baldry. Mum was likely behind the camera while the rest of us drifted in and out of adventures nearby. Writing these poems has become a way of reconnecting with the people, places, and moments that helped shape my life and memories.

Self‑Discovery and Identity — “What Was and What Will Be

The Future You Create

The future waits in quiet clay,
Shaped by the hands that work today.
No distant star can chart your way,
Like choices made along the day.
Each step becomes tomorrow’s view,
The future lives in what you do.
