“Sometimes I’m a little selfish
And perhaps a little overindulgent
I’m certainly a little impatient
and sometimes I feel a little insecure.”

“Sometimes I see the green grass
Then I realise it’s just a dream
I do day dream from time to time
Then I remember the world I live in.”

“Sometimes I forget that to exist
Is not to live… life offers so much
The only obstacles before us are
the choices we have to choose from.”

“Sometimes I surprise myself…
I’m not comfortable with surprises
I like logic and methodology
Even though I seem to live in chaos.”

“Sometimes Life is just so chaotic
I try to live systematically
An order of what is and can be
Usually, I succeed with alarming surprise.”

Paul Baldry

I wrote Sometimes quite a few years ago, reflecting on life, its uncertainties, and the choices we make along the way. Reading it again today, I realise that very little has changed. We still dream, doubt, question ourselves and try to bring order to the chaos. Perhaps that is simply life—never perfect, never predictable, but always offering us choices and another chance to live rather than merely exist.

Self‑Discovery and Identity — “What Was and What Will Be

The Future You Create

The future waits in quiet clay,
Shaped by the hands that work today.

No distant star can chart your way,
Like choices made along the day.

Each step becomes tomorrow’s view,
The future lives in what you do.
