They started small—
bare feet on summer pavement,
arms slung around each other
like it was the most natural thing in the world.

She had a stuffed bear.
He had scraped knees.
They shared secrets,
ice lollies,
and the kind of laughter
that only kids understand.

Years passed.
School.
Storms.
Jobs.
Distance.
But somehow,
they always found their way back—
to the same bench,
the same jokes,
the same rhythm.

Now they sit by the lake,
chairs creaking,
hands spotted with time,
but still reaching.

The bear’s long gone.
The knees don’t run anymore.
But the love?
It’s steady.
It’s quiet.
It’s the kind that doesn’t need fireworks—
just a sunset,
a breeze,
and someone who remembers
every version of you
and stayed.

Some love stories aren’t built on grand gestures but on a lifetime of shared moments. Still Side by Side follows two people from carefree childhood to old age, showing that the strongest love grows through friendship, loyalty, and simply choosing each other, every single day. Of course, I’m writing about myself and my wife.

Self‑Discovery and Identity — “What Was and What Will Be

Forged by Choice

Life is not forged by chance alone,
But by the seeds that we have sown. Each crossroads asks what we believe,
And what we’re willing to achieve. Through every choice our paths rejoice,
For destiny is forged by choice.
