My Journey Home

Ink-stained fingers, a poet’s resolve,
Crafting dreams with words that evolve.
“Life favours the courageous,” he scribes with might,
Sparking flames in hearts, igniting the night.

A boy of ink, with dreams scribed in rhyme,
Yearning for tales beyond place and time.
From poet to soldier, his journey unfolds,
Courage his compass amid the world’s plight.

Through battles fought and victories won,
His quest for adventure is never done.
Now in search of love, a heart beating true,
Guided by his verses, both old and new.

Homeward he seeks a lover’s embrace,
A place of peace, a safe, welcoming place.
The boy poet, now a man of lore,
His journey a story, rich to explore.

With pen in hand, he scribed his fate,
A chronicle of life, both early and late.
For in daring to dream, and daring to roam,
The boy poet found love and made a brave home.

Paul Baldry

My poem follows one man’s journey from a young dreamer with a love of words to a soldier shaped by courage and experience. Through every challenge, his poetry keeps him grounded, leading him towards the greatest reward of all—a place to call home and a love to share it with.

Self‑Discovery and Identity — “What Was and What Will Be

The Future You Create

The future waits in quiet clay,
Shaped by the hands that work today.

No distant star can chart your way,
Like choices made along the day.

Each step becomes tomorrow’s view,
The future lives in what you do.
