A Candle of Hope and Unity

light a candle…

for the ones alone
in quiet rooms
where no one calls

for the homeless
searching for warmth

for the ill…
fighting battles
unseen

let it glow…

for the sorrow
never spoken

for the drifting souls
lost between places

for the children
finding their way

for beginnings…
and endings
held in the same breath

for families
bound together

for courage
standing in uniform

for friendship…
that holds us steady

for strangers
passing by

unknown
yet the same
as us

light one…

for the hearts
still healing

for love
not yet lost

and one…
for yourself

for the weight
you carry

for the strength
you forget you have

and maybe…
one for me

let them burn

small flames
against the dark

together…

lighting a path
we can all follow

By Paul Baldry (LongJohn)

A gentle, modern spoken poem reflecting unity, compassion, and shared humanity—each flame a quiet prayer for others, and a reminder that even the smallest light can guide us through darkness.
