— No Straight Lines—

Life is a jigsaw
with no picture on the box…

We find the edges first,
build what feels certain,
turn corners
with quiet confidence…

But the centre—
that’s where we hesitate,
holding pieces
that don’t yet belong…

Still, we place them,
one by one…

trusting that somehow
it will make sense.

And the final piece?
It never quite shows itself—
only the space
it was meant to fill.

Paul Baldry (LongJohn)

This is another version of my original poem Jigsaw. Life rarely comes together in straight lines. Piece by piece, we shape our paths—learning, placing, and trusting, each piece of life’s obstacles, even when one final piece always remains just out of reach.

Reflections on Life

Self‑Discovery and Identity —

“What Was and What Will Be”

“My past doesn’t define me
Nor will my future shape me
I’m a realist in the present.”

“My past was a battle…
I’m at peace with my future.”
