This poem reflects my life with my wife, a journey that has stretched across forty-eight years of love, service, and shared resilience. As a military family, we faced both peaceful days and times of conflict, separations, and the storms that life inevitably brings. Yet through every posting, challenge, and changing horizon, we remained side by side. It is a tribute to a bond forged through duty, loyalty, and enduring love that has kept us, quite simply, joined at the hip.

Reflections on Life

Love and Pain

“Love is not without pain,
And will surely bring pain.
A broken heart may hurt,
But resilience and trust in each other
May cure both.”

Of course, it also allows for a choice—
The choice of freedom.

Lessons of Choice

“Choice is a lesson in itself—
A lesson of right and wrong.
No matter the choices we make in life,
They will shape and build
Our sagacity.”
