My Mary Poppins: Unlocking My Spirit

by LongJohn

In dreams of whimsical tales, I’m lost—
A world where magic reigns, uncrossed.
Where Mary Poppins, so dear, resides,
With lessons that my spirit guides.

In Mary’s eyes, a twinkle gleams,
A kindred soul within her dreams.
For like Mr Banks, I yearn to be—
Bound by rules, yet longing to be free.

Oh, Saving Mr Banks, a tale so true—
A journey embarked, a life anew.
As a boy, I yearned for rigid ways,
But dear Mary taught me in her maze.

Lessons masked by laughter and song,
A melody of joy where I belong.
She whisked me off on whimsical flights,
Unshackled my heart, set my soul alight.

From stern confines of a structured life,
Mary showed me how to break the strife—
To embrace the dreams I dared to keep,
Free from society’s judgment, deep.

With magic umbrella in her hand,
Mary taught me to truly understand
That chasing dreams needn’t be in vain—
My heart, my spirit, forever unchained.

For in the end, she stole my heart,
And taught me to trust, to embrace my art—
To heal the wounds that held me tight,
Unlocking dreams that slept in night.

Now, I am the boy once lost—
A wanderer tamed, no longer tossed.
I’ve learned to dance, to sing with glee—
A soul awakened, forever set free.

With song and dreams… thank you, my Mary, dear,
For teaching me courage, casting out fear.
In whimsical tales, my heart now preserves
The lessons that set me adrift from life’s curves.

Reflections on Life

“Words become the wings of imagination, as the poet weaves tales that transport readers to faraway lands, igniting their spirits to embark on their own bold escapades.”

“Conquering treacherous terrains demands both physical and mental fortitude, as a true adventurer never backs down from a challenge.”

Paul Baldry
